Here, on the left, you can see Venus. This is a good example of AI, as this picture is enhanced by computers. Many people will not call that intelligence, as it's merely some thousand calculations executed one after another. However, because the calculations include some tests (if/then/else), it is part of Artificial Intelligence. |
Because it recoginzes them and that's AI! The first step for an Automatic Teller Machine (or ATM) is to check the color of the ink, if it is not the right color, it ejects the bill back to the user. Then it looks for the face on the bill. If the face is the wrong way, it says so and ejects the bill. Finally, if all these steps where ok, it reads the digits in all corners and defines the amount of the bill. |
Well... actually they are present for two major reasons: (a) to see with their own eyes and report exactly what they feel; (b) to replace the computer in case it fails. Yes! AI is used for years in planes and 99% of long distance flyers are only computer driven. Pilots usually have fun landing, that's nearly the only thing they do themselves. The computer can do that task too. It checks for all the necessary instruments, all at once and does the necessary maneuver. The discovery shuttle uses the same type of programs. |
Up there, you can see a picture of a Mirage 2000 of the US army. |
